Registration As A British Citizen
Registration as a British citizen is an alternative route to British nationality, mainly available to children and certain adults who do not qualify for naturalisation. This route is often based on birth in the UK, long residence, parental status, or historic nationality law provisions.
British citizenship registration is governed by the British Nationality Act and can be either an entitlement or discretionary application. Our specialists assess eligibility carefully and prepare strong, well-supported applications to maximise success.
Many registration applications are refused due to incomplete evidence, incorrect forms, or misunderstanding of eligibility rules. We provide end-to-end legal support, ensuring your application fully meets Home Office requirements.
Our Services For Student Visa
The MN1 application is used to register a child under 18 as a British citizen where the child qualifies by entitlement or discretion. This may apply if a child was born in the UK and a parent later obtained settled status or British citizenship.
A child who has lived continuously in the UK for 10 years may be entitled to British citizenship under Form T. The residence must be lawful and continuous, with strict limits on absences.
The UKF application allows individuals born before 1 July 2006 to register as British citizens where their mother was British, but citizenship was not automatically passed on under the law at that time.
